Variation in Out-of-Hospital Vardiac Arrests Across 7 Asian Countries: A PAROS Study

This PAROS study reports out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) trends in 7 Asia-Specific Countries : Japan,Singapre, South Korea, Malaysia, Tiwan, Thiland and UAS-Dubai. This prospective international study is based on 1.5 to 2.5 years of data from Jan 2009 to Dec 2012 with standardised taxonomy to collect common variables from national registry. It included cases of caridac etiology and resuscitation by EMS with primary outcome measure of survival to hospital discharge or survived 30 days post cardiac arrest.

The study found wide variation amongst countries studied in surival to hospital dicharge. It also showed that it was relatively low compared to North America and European Countries.
